Ceremony at the University of Halle: Dr Marcus Pöckelmann receives his doctoral certificate
On 26 April 2025, Martin Luther University held its 2025 ceremony. During the event, Dean Prof Dr Müller-Hannemann presented Dr Marcus Pöckelmann with his doctoral certificate. Marcus Pöckelmann received his doctorate in June 2024 with a topic at the interface between computer science and the text-based humanities. The title of his dissertation was ‘On LERA and the realisation of essential requirements for digital tools for collating different text versions of a work’. Preisverleihung bridgefield Award
Herr Edward Sabinus hat den 1. Preis des bridgefield Awards für seine Masterarbeit Automatische Bewertung von Struktureller Induktion auf Abstrakten Datentypen erhalten. Herr Sabinus hat ein Verfahren entwickelt, das Beweis von struktureller Induktion überprüft und Studierenden automatisch Rückmeldungen auf ihre Fehler gibt. Dabei wird auch der Beweis an Hand von Auswertungsschemata, die durch die Lehrenden konfiguriert werden können, bewertet. Das dabei entstandene Werkzeug Asia wird bereits seit 3 Semestern sowohl in der Lehre als auch in den Prüfungen erfolgreich eingesetzt.
Herr Alexander Thomas Linde hat den 3. Preis des bridgefield Awards für seine Bachelorarbeit Prozessmodellierung für die Integration von gerichtsmedizinischen Untersuchungen in ein Komponentensystem erhalten. Herr Linde untersuchte zwei rechtsmedizinische Prozesse am UKH und der Universität Zürich. Er wendete Methoden aus der Softwareproduktlinienentwicklung auf diese Prozesse an und leitete daraus Komponenten-basierte Softwarearchitekturen aus der Produktlinienentwicklung ab.

Cybersicherheit: Institut für Informatik erhält Millionenförderung für Forschung zu KI
(Juli 2024) Wie Künstliche Intelligenz (KI) dabei helfen kann, Cyberattacken zu erkennen und abzuwehren, untersucht ein neues Forschungsprojekt am Institut für Informatik der Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg (MLU). Hierfür erhält die MLU rund zwei Millionen Euro aus Mitteln des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt und des Europäischen Fonds für Regionale Entwicklung. Außerdem will das Team um Dr. Sandro Wefel Ansätze entwickeln, um auf KI-basierte Cyberattacken reagieren zu können. 7th Innovation Forum of the Central German IT Cluster
On 11 July, the 7th Innovation Forum of the IT Central Germany Cluster took place at the Institute of Computer Science. The meeting focussed on IT security in medium-sized companies. More than 20 representatives from the regional IT industry also discussed the second EU directive on network and information security (NIS 2) and the post-quantum cryptography era.
